Colourways was established by the Design Institute of Australia in 1992.

It is now operated under license by the National Design Centre Australia Pty Ltd under the guidance of Kathy Demos.

Kathy Demos

For over 20 years, Kathy Demos has been responsible for the development of comprehensive programs that promote Australian designers and their work.

Kathy continues her role as Program Director for Colourways, co-ordinating services and programs for Members and Sponsors which guide their practices, product developments and industry expertise through the cycles and trends influenced by greater industry developments and world events.

Kathy has been a member of the Victorian Council for the Design Institute of Australia, and has been made a Fellow of the Institute in recognition of her contribution to the design profession.

She is currently on the Board of the John Truscott Design Foundation where she has managed the John Truscott Travel Award giving young designers the opportunity to travel and work in the spirit of the opportunities this created for John Truscott, with an important emphasis on personal development together with career opportunities.
